The LIONS FOUNDATION of Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario stands on Treaty 1 Territory, constituting the ancestral lands and waters of the Anishinaabeg, Anishininewuk, Dakota Oyate, Denesuline, and Nehethowuk Nations. Additionally, it resides within the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. We recognize that the establishment of the first Ukrainian settlements was intertwined with a colonization process that led to the displacement of First Nations and Métis communities, disrupting their way of life. Our unwavering commitment lies in fostering open dialogue concerning our respective peoples' historical and ongoing connections. Furthermore, we are dedicated to forging partnerships with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities, guided by truth, reconciliation, and collaborative engagement principles.
